Dear friend,

"If you want to live within the definition of your own truth, you have to go through the painful process of finding it." -David Levithan

You Lose to Win

They say it takes time

if one is willing to go

so far to accept that

you will find, if you stop

I had searched so far

yet still found nothing

came to realize that

if you stop, you will find

No matter how long you run

or how far you fall

it is a matter of loss

you will find, if you stop

They say what it takes

Just lose yourself for awhile

If you stop, you will find

Yourself

Have you ever opened your eyes, really open them to see, when you look down at your hands that you call your own, that maybe you've thought wrong. Have you ever wondered, is this real? If you look at your hands just long enough, you’ll feel the pull of the cord that turns the dangling bare light bulb on. It illuminates everything.

Even with that light bulb on, we still rest. We sleep through it all.

Sometimes I have wondered if our lives are like a cassette tape. Is this a simple recording or an ever evolving story? Has the whole tape already been recorded, waiting for us to finish it and approve? Only to be rewound for the next time to listen?

How many times have we been here? Have we ever not been here? Just not in a form understandable to our dimension or conscious? There has got to be something far outside the reach of the firewall of the mind that can explain the swirling silence of our existence.

Surely it would make sense. Some cassette tapes unravel before they’ve been completely listened to thoroughly. Others are listened to over and over until they become worn through and thrown out.

Is this a run through rehearsal for the big musical number?

Another soundtrack for the universe to listen to of just another perspective. Something that forever continues with ever building relationships and compassion for love… Our brains can fill with knowledge but can our hearts fill with love?

These are the things I often ask myself. Don’t fear, fear. Fear can guide you to a deeper place that your mind can’t reach. Fear will lead to the future.

Either way the cassette has ran through its tape, as we sit without a clue as to the real meaning of the song that’s just played.

We listen, we wait, we reminisce.

This moment won’t last forever, none ever do. Instead, a past memory now takes its place, reminding me that my fears in this present moment are mine and are forever resolute. The cord is tugged again and back comes reality again. Your hands come into a sharper focus. The room brightens, you become aware of yourself.
